The recently organized Southern Missouri Women Lawyers elected its first slate of officers. Patty Shilling, founding member, of Ozark, MO will serve as the organization’s first President. Other officers elected: Vice President Deanna Scott, director of litigation, Legal Services of Southern Missouri; Secretary/Treasurer Lara Fors, director, Springfield Regional Prosecutors’ Child Support Office.
Serving on the Board of Directors with the officers will be Greene County Probate Commissioner Carol Aiken; Debbie Dodge, shareholder of Hall Ansley; Andrea Long, managing attorney with Legal Services of Southern Missouri; and The Honorable Nancy Rahmeyer, Missouri Court of Appeals.
The Southern Missouri Women Lawyers were organized to promote women within the legal profession; provide mentorship to women lawyers; provide women lawyer’s a forum for the exchange of ideas; promote equality of women within society and the legal profession; engage in efforts to eliminate bias against women; support philanthropic efforts that address the plight of women and children; to facilitate the involvement of women in positions of leadership within local, state and national bar associations; and, to facilitate the involvement of women in government and community.
