The Access Justice center is a lifeline for individuals navigating the complexities of civil law matters on their own. A collaborative effort between Legal Services of Southern Missouri and Greene County, Access Justice empowers individuals to become their own advocates, providing them with the tools and knowledge to navigate their legal journey with confidence. Our services are available to everyone, regardless of income, ensuring that justice is accessible to all.
At Access Justice, we offer a comprehensive array of support, including educational resources, legal information, forms assistance, community referrals, and support services. Our ultimate goal is to ensure everyone has informed access to the court system, enabling individuals to make empowered decisions about their legal matters.
Hours: Tues., Wed., & Thurs. 8:30 a.m. to noon
Location: The Access Justice center is located on the first floor of the Greene County Courthouse at 1010 N Boonville Ave, Springfield, MO 65802.
WHAT ASSISTANCE CAN ACCESS JUSTICE CENTER STAFF PROVIDE?
The staff at the Access Justice center CAN:
- Provide instructions regarding court forms
- Provide review of completed forms
- Provide information about court rules, procedures, and practices
- Provide information on how to represent yourself in court
- Provide referrals for legal aid programs and other community resources where you might obtain legal assistance or supportive services
- Provide information on free legal classes and educational materials on various legal topics
The staff at the Access Justice center CANNOT:
- File your court papers for you
- Evaluate your case or advise whether or not your case should be brought before a judge
- Provide legal advice about how the law applies to your facts
- Change an order signed by a judge
- Give an opinion or predict how a judge might rule in your case
- Talk to the judge or pass a message to a judge
