BBB has spoken with numerous consumers who have received phone calls from people claiming to be with agencies such as Medicare and they need to verify their banking information for a new card. Do not give out banking information over the phone. For questions relating to insurance, Medicare plans, bank accounts and more, call the companies or agencies directly.
Due to the rise of fraud targeting senior citizens, Better Business Bureau of Southwest Missouri will host its Second Annual BBB Senior Scam Jam Friday September 28. This free event is designed to educate seniors on how to recognize fraud and scams and how to protect themselves.
